Our 15-day journey to Everest Base Camp starts with a breathtaking 35-minute flight to Lukla. However, if you are traveling during the peak months of October, November, March, and April, you must take an early morning 5- to 6-hour drive to Ramechhap and then a 15-minute flight to Lukla. During the trek, we will follow the descending path along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through the charming village of Phakding before reaching Namche Bazaar, also known as the "Gateway to Mt. Everest." There are multiple routes to reach Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), including the Gokyo Ri Trek, Everest Base Camp Trek, and Three Pass Trek. Each of these routes offers its unique challenges and holds great significance. In our Everest Camp Trekking itinerary, we will trek to the village of Tengboche (3,870m) after Namche Bazaar, where we will be treated to a magnificent view of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m), and more.

Afterward, we will make our way to Dingboche, where we will spend a day resting and acclimatizing. During that time, we will have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking views of the mountains. On the third day, commence your enchanting and renowned journey of the Everest Base Camp Trek. During the peak tourist months of October, November, March, and April, there is no direct flight available between Kathmandu and Lukla. Consequently, you will need to travel overland to Ramechhap, which entails a 5-hour drive, before embarking on a 15-minute flight to Lukla and vice versa. However, if you opt for the Ramechhap route, you will need to depart from Kathmandu at midnight, with a travel duration of 5 hours covering a distance of 145km each way. Outside of the peak months, you have the option to fly directly between Kathmandu and Lukla, with a flight duration of 30 minutes per route.

The scenic flight provides a unique opportunity to witness the majestic Himalayan ranges, lush green valleys, and stunning landscapes. Lukla serves as the gateway to this region and is a delightful Sherpa town. Upon arrival at Lukla Airport, you will embark on a short and effortless journey to Phakding. The distance is only 8 km, and it takes 4 hours to reach there. Throughout the journey, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery, including the Dhudkosi River, Sherpa villages, and snow-capped mountains in the background. You will stay at the riverside lodge in Pokhading.

After having a warm breakfast and packing our belongings, we will continue our journey along the western bank of the Dudh Koshi River towards Benkar (2,700m) via the charming Tok-Tok village. This village is famous for its hot springs enclosed in a shed and a picturesque waterfall. Then, we will cross over to the eastern bank of the Dudh Koshi River and pass through the beautiful woodland of rhododendrons and blue pine, reaching Chumoa and Monjo, located on the outskirts of Sagarmatha National Park. At this point, we must present our permit or obtain one if we don't have it. Our next destination is Monjo village (2,800m), where we will follow a steep trail that descends abruptly across Monjo Khola. Continuing our journey, we will reach Jhorsalle (2,804m) after crossing the Dudh Koshi River once again. Finally, we will arrive at the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers. To proceed further, we will make a challenging ascent to a suspension bridge that spans the Dudh Koshi River. After a short but steady climb through the forest, we will reach Namche Bazaar (3,340m), which offers breathtaking mountain views. The distance from Phakding to Namche is 12 km. We will spend the night at a lodge in this enchanting Sherpa capital.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast in the Himalayas, we will embark on a hike to the Everest View Hotel and Syangboche, which is home to the highest airport. Namche Bazaar is not only known for its vibrant market, which takes place every Saturday morning, but also for housing an army camp and serving as the headquarters of Sagarmatha National Park. It is worth noting that the market operates until mid-day, allowing ample time for shopping and browsing.

In addition to its bustling market, Namche offers various amenities, such as internet cafes, an ATM, a bank, a German bakery, medical facilities, Tibetan souvenir shops, and numerous other stores. This vibrant town is an ideal place for acclimatization, as it provides access to several trails leading to surrounding villages and vantage points that offer breathtaking views of towering peaks like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and Taweche on clear days. Today, we will embark on a journey along the trail that begins in the Khumjung region and gradually takes us to the main route leading to Everest Base Camp at Shanasa. As we continue, the trail will lead us to Trashinga and then Phunke Tenga (3,250m), where we will cross the Dudh Koshi River with a suspension bridge. At Phunke Thenga, there is an army checkpoint that will inspect our trekking permits. Moving forward, we will face a challenging ascent through a dense forest of Juniper, Fir, Pine, and Rhododendron, eventually reaching Tengboche (3,870m). This village offers breathtaking views of majestic peaks such as Everest, Ama Dablam, and Kantega. Additionally, Tengboche is home to the impressive Tengboche Monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa, which is the largest of its kind in the Khumbu region. The journey covered from Namche Bazar to Tengboche is approximately 10km, which typically takes around 5 to 6 hours to complete. Within this picturesque village, you will have the opportunity to explore the captivating Pangboche Monastery and witness the majestic Mt. Ama Dablam in all its glory. Afterwards, the trail will once again traverse the Imja Khola, ascending past the alpine hillside, until we reach Dingboche (4,360m). The distance covered from Tengboche to Dingboche is approximately 12 km, which typically takes around 6 to 7 hours to complete.

As we continue to ascend, it is crucial to adapt to the altitude to avoid acute mountain sickness (AMS). If you prefer to stay active, you can also hike in the stunning Chhukung Valley, which takes approximately 4–5 hours. However, we strongly recommend allowing your body enough time to acclimatize so that it can properly prepare for the challenging journey ahead.

Today, we embark on a journey accompanied by the awe-inspiring presence of the Tawache and Cholatse peaks. Our path leads us to ascend a ridge, traversing beyond the lush pasturelands and crossing a sturdy wooden bridge that takes us to Dughla (4,620m). As we continue, the trail steeply ascends to the crest of a glacial moraine, revealing a poignant memorial dedicated to the brave climbers and Sherpas who lost their lives during numerous Everest expeditions. From this vantage point, we are treated to a breathtaking panorama encompassing the majestic peaks of Lingtren (6,697m), Pumori (7,145m), Lingtren (6,697m), and Mahalangur Himal. However, the elusive sight of Everest remains hidden behind the towering walls of Lhotse and Nuptse. After a brief but invigorating hike, we will finally arrive at Lobuche (4,960m), having covered a distance of 12 kilometers for 6-7 hours, traversing the magnificent terrains of the Himalayas.

Starting from Lobuche, our journey will commence along a rocky trail that traverses the Khumbu Glacier until we reach Gorak Shep (5,170m). As you arrive, you will witness the vibrant camps set up by mountaineers during their Everest expeditions. While the climbers may not extend a warm welcome, it is crucial to respect their privacy and focus on fulfilling your own Everest dream, which entails sightseeing and capturing memorable photographs. It is important to note that you may not witness the complete grandeur of Mount Everest from its base to its summit due to its proximity to the mountain itself. However, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the awe-inspiring Khumbu Icefall and catch breathtaking glimpses of snow-capped peaks such as Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and many others. Situated at an impressive elevation of 5,545m, Kalapatthar stands as the highest point of our trek and is renowned for its breathtaking views in the Khumbu region. Surpassing even the Everest Base Camp in terms of altitude, this vantage point offers a remarkable opportunity to witness the world's tallest peak up close, transforming your Everest aspirations into a tangible reality. Moreover, Kalapatthar treats its visitors to a captivating spectacle of the sunrise illuminating the majestic Mt. Everest, known as Chomolungma in Tibetan or Sagarmatha in Nepali, symbolizing the Mother Goddess of the Universe. The path descends downhill after the suspension bridges, leading to the village of Monjo. There are no obstacles along the way, and eventually, the trail reaches the village of Phakding (2,610m). From there, it continues until it reaches its final destination, Lukla (2,840m).
