What facilities are not included?

Please be aware that the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trekking package does not include additional amenities such as shower facilities, internet access, battery charging, laundry services, and drinking water.

  • Drinking Water: Staying properly hydrated is crucial for any trekking or adventure trip to avoid altitude sickness and maintain good health. It is advised to consume 3 to 4 liters of water each day while trekking. There are multiple ways to obtain clean water during your journey, such as utilizing filters or purification tablets for natural spring water. Another option is to purchase bottled water or boil water for drinking. If you prefer warm water, be sure to pack suitable containers. The cost of a one-liter bottle may range from Rs 150 to Rs 200, depending on the altitude you are at.
  • Hot Shower: It is crucial to have a restful night's sleep to rejuvenate after a long hike, and a revitalizing shower can aid in achieving that. Regrettably, hot showers are not complimentary, but each lodge provides access to a Hot Shower facility. These showers are operated using either gas or solar energy. The price per person for a shower usually ranges from Rs. 200 to Rs. 300. It is advisable to have some Nepali currency readily available to cover the expense of this service.
  • Laundry Service: During the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you have the option to take care of your laundry personally and hang it over a woodfire. In mountainous regions, there are laundry services available at a reasonable price, but you also have the freedom to wash your garments on your own. To accomplish this, remember to bring washing powder or soap and clean your everyday items. Subsequently, hang them close to a wood fire or on the tea house's balcony, taking advantage of the wind to expedite the overnight drying process.
  • Wifi and Connection: Throughout the Short ABC trek, wifi is accessible at all teahouses. In areas with strong signal, you can choose to obtain a local SIM card with data, except in specific regions. Nevertheless, if you opt to utilize the teahouse wifi, a daily fee of Rs. 200 per person will be applicable, solely covering the lodge. It is important to consider that internet connectivity might not be feasible during unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Charging Facility: Throughout the ABC Trek, there is a charging facility provided for electronic devices. The hydroelectricity service covers the entire trekking route, guaranteeing access to necessary amenities. Moreover, each tea house is equipped with several outlets for your convenience. It is recommended to carry a power bank in case of unexpected situations such as bad weather or power outages. Please be aware that there might be a nominal fee ranging from Rs. 100 to Rs. 200 at each tea house.

How much cash should you bring on a trip?

For personal expenses, it may be necessary to carry the local currency, and the specific amount will vary depending on your spending preferences. We recommend bringing approximately USD100 worth of Nepali Rupees to cover expenses like water, shower facilities, wifi, beverages, and more.

Tipping Culture:

Tipping is a common practice in the tourism industry in Nepal. When utilizing airport transportation services, it is customary to leave a tip for the driver. Similarly, when dining for lunch or dinner, it is expected to show appreciation by leaving a tip for the staff. This practice also applies to trekking guides, tour guides, climbing guides, and porters. The amount of the tip is discretionary and should reflect your satisfaction with the service received.
