Embark on the renowned Everest Base Camp Trek from Jiri, a trek that has gained immense popularity for its length and comprehensive coverage of the Everest region. This classic expedition allows you to traverse the lower regions and ascend to higher elevations, providing a complete and unforgettable experience on a single trip. Join us on this extraordinary journey and discover the true essence of the Everest Base Camp Trek. Being one of the most acclaimed trekking routes of Nepal; the classical route to Everest Base Camp via Jiri was pursued by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in the course of their first expedition to summit Mt. Everest in 1953 A.D. Even after more than 60 years of the first ascent of mighty Mt. Everest, this splendid route is greatly admired by mountaineers and travel enthusiasts around the world. The trekking trail leads to Everest Base Camp (EBC), across the graceful town of Jiri, aka ‘Switzerland of Nepal’ due to the exotic landscapes it showcases. This picturesque hilly trail is filled with gorgeous woodlands of rhododendron, which also provides a window of opportunity to observe and explore Sagarmatha National Park, embellished with breathtaking outlooks of the glittering mountains and pristine lakes next to monasteries and Mani walls adorned by prayer wheels, and exotic rural villages of Sherpa, Newar and Magar communities. On top of that, you’ll have the right set of circumstances to make a journey within the naturally favoured Khumbu region while getting acquainted with the Himalayan culture, traditions, and lifestyle of remote Eastern Nepal.

Highlights:

  • Experience the breathtaking beauty of Jiri, often referred to as the Switzerland of Nepal.
  • Marvel at the panoramic 360-degree vistas of snow-covered mountain ranges from the summit of Kalapatthar.
  • Indulge in the serene and frosty atmosphere of Everest Base Camp, surrounded by a picturesque snowscape.
  • Journey through the naturally adorned path that winds through the enchanting rhododendron woodland.
  • Discover the vibrant Chortens and Gompas adorned with prayer flags and traditional wall paintings.
  • Immerse yourself in the exotic landscapes of Jiri, reminiscent of the stunning beauty of Switzerland.
  • Delight in the snowy scenery and the refreshing ambiance of Everest Base Camp.

Following Jiri, the delightful escapade commences in a beautiful town of Shivalay. Roving through lovely Sete village, we now trek past the settlements of Junbesi, Nunthala, Bupsa, Surke, and Phakding and head up in the direction of Namche Bazaar (3,440m), a traditional Sherpa town. The town functions as a perfect place to acclimatize prior to our oncoming journey to higher elevations with low levels of oxygen. Thereafter, we continue our escapade through the villages of Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche, inhabited by native Sherpa communities and eventually arrive at Gorakshep. From here, we make our way to the foothills of the world’s highest mountaintop, which we recognize as Everest Base Camp. This spot renders awe-inspiring views of snow-capped peaks including Mt. Everest (8, 848m) parallel to Mt. Makalu, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Cho Oyu, together with other towering snowy summits.  Subsequently, an early morning hike to Kalapatthar delivers spectacular sunrise vistas over the stupendous Himalayan range.

Along with a physically fit body, trekkers are required to have endurance in order to confront some challenging, abrupt ridges. The overall trek bestows trekkers with noteworthy landscapes and elegant mountain vistas, accompanied by diverse flora and fauna, green grasslands and forests thriving with lush vegetation. Ultimately, this trek surely rewards the trekkers with lifetime memories for their tireless trekking efforts.
