Mountain Accommodation

The 11-day Annapurna Base Camp trek package includes 8 nights of mountain accommodations. We strive to provide private rooms; however, at times, sharing may be required depending on the crowd. If you plan to trek during the peak season, we recommend booking in advance, as last-minute arrangements may lead to difficulties in securing a private room. Please kindly note that luxury accommodations are available along the trek.

Mountain Meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

The mountain meals are included in the package, which covers Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Breakfast is served in Kathmandu and Pokhara, while you will need to organize your own meals for Lunch and Dinner. Generally, in the mountains, you can choose one meal for each time slot (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner). If you feel that one meal is not enough, you are free to request an additional meal. Please note that each item is intended for one meal, serving a generous portion. A wide variety of meal options is available, ranging from local dal bhat to continental dishes, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. However, it is advisable to avoid meat and cheese due to hygiene issues, as they are often the main contributors to food poisoning based on extensive experience.

Trekking Guide

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek and return by helicopter package includes an English-speaking local guide who has extensive experience. Our guide is well-trained and has received training from Natham, along with a license from the Nepal government institution. The package cost covers guide-related expenses such as insurance, salary, trekking gear, meals, accommodation, and transportation. Our guides are friendly, helpful, and professional.

What permits are required for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek necessitates two permits for participation: the Annapurna Conservation Areas Permit and the TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) Card. The Annapurna Conservation Areas Permit (ACAP) is essential for maintaining the trail and preserving the natural environment, while the TIMS Card ensures the safety of guides, porters, and clients. To acquire these permits, each traveler must provide a passport and a passport-sized photo. The costs are as follows:

  • The Annapurna Conservation Areas Permit is priced at USD 25 / Rs 3000 per person.
  • The TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) costs USD 18 / Rs 2000.

Trekking Porter:

The package includes porter assistance for your heavy luggage. Typically, one porter can carry between 18 and 20 kg, and this can be shared among two trekkers. The expenses associated with the porter, such as meals, insurance, gear, salary, transportation, and accommodation, are all included in the package. Hiring a porter ensures that your trip is stress-free and significantly more comfortable. We primarily provide local porters who are genuinely in need of work.

ABC Trek and Back to Pokhara by Heli

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins in Pokhara and takes you to the Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) via the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trail. Once you arrive in this breathtaking valley beneath Annapurna I (8091m), you will be captivated by the stunning scenery, glaciers, and towering peaks that create an atmosphere reminiscent of paradise. The tranquil and beautiful landscape, along with the sound of avalanches, offers a unique experience and immense satisfaction beyond imagination. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek concludes here, after which you will return to Pokhara by helicopter. The flight lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, allowing you to soar like a bird high in the sky, providing aerial views of the mountains and lush valleys below, showcasing another aspect of the beauty of the Himalayas and its surroundings. The package includes a shared helicopter, and the cost varies depending on the number of passengers and weather conditions. If you have 4 to 5 people, a private helicopter will be arranged. However, if there are fewer than 4 people, you will need to share a seat in the helicopter with other passengers.

How Challenging is the Annapurna Base Camp Trek?

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is regarded as a moderately difficult trek. The path consists mainly of ascents and descents, but with a maximum elevation of only 4130m, the likelihood of experiencing Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is reduced. Participating in the trek from the Ghorepani Poon Hill tour provides excellent acclimatization for the ABC Trek. The trek begins with an ascent to Poon Hill, followed by a series of ups and downs to Tadapani, then descending to Chhomrong, and further down to Chhomrong Khola before ascending to Upper Sinuwa. From there, you will reach Bamboo, followed by a gradual ascent to Annapurna through the jungle, leading to a morainal and rocky trail to Deurali, and then into a narrow valley towards Machapuchare Base Camp (3700m). This section can be hazardous due to rockfalls and avalanches. The stretch from MBC to ABC features a mix of glacial terrain and grass. Overall, this trek is of moderate difficulty and requires a reasonable level of physical fitness, though prior mountaineering skills are not necessary. It is suitable for both novice and experienced trekkers, including families with children, first-time trekkers, and those seeking a shorter, easier trekking experience.
